You’re never too old or too young to have a beautifully straight smile – and now you can straighten your teeth with invisible braces so that no one notices!

We are able to offer the Invisalign system here at our practice. Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move your teeth into the correct position.

Because they are clear, they are virtually invisible, so no one is likely to notice you are wearing them. They are also easily removable, so you can take them out when eating, and can clean your teeth and gums easily.

Invisalign provides a unique approach to orthodontics that can help you achieve the smile that you have always wanted – ‘invisibly’.

Invisalign FAQ’s

Invisalign treatment is not painful. The clear aligners are designed with comfort in mind, with no metal or sharp wires that could irritate your mouth or cause pain. We use innovative digital dentistry to give your aligners an accurate and snug fit, making it easy to wear them for 22 hours per day. You may experience some discomfort when they are first fitted, but this is temporary.
In order for your treatment to be the most effective, you need to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day. You should take them out only for eating, drinking, brushing your teeth and playing contact sport, if applicable. Some patients choose to remove their aligners for special occasions, but it is important you remember to put them back in as soon as possible to avoid affecting your treatment progress.
When you first start wearing your aligners, it will likely take a few days to get used to the feeling of them in your mouth. This may give you a slight lisp, or affect your speech in another way, but this is temporary. As you feel more comfortable with your aligners, you will begin talking clearly and confidently once more.
The length of time your Invisalign treatment takes depends on your individual case and how far your teeth have to move to achieve your dream smile. Most Invisalign treatments are completed in 9-18 months. More complex cases need more aligners, so treatment takes a longer time, while straightforward cases can expect to see results faster. We will let you know your predicted treatment time at your initial consultation.
Each time you remove your aligners, make sure you rinse them with cold water before putting them back in your mouth. This removes any debris that could cause problems. We also recommend soaking your aligners in a special cleaner twice a week.
If you lose one of your Invisalign aligners, don’t panic! Contact us as soon as you can for advice. In the meantime, you can wear an aligner from your previous set to prevent your teeth from moving too far out of line. We may advise you move straight onto your next set of aligners rather than creating a replacement for the lost one.
Retainers are seen as the final stage of Invisalign treatment. Teeth have a habit of moving out of place over time, so retainers are needed to keep them in their positions and maintain your new straighter smile. We recommend you wear your retainers overnight for the long term, to keep your results for the long term.
